Notes
This second volume of the biographies of Maori people in the Maori language includes the lives of those who first made their mark in the years 1870 to 1900. The stories of people from all major tribal areas demonstrate the radical changes that were occurring in Maori society at this time. A skilled team of translators and editors has ensured a high literary standard of Maori, and an accurate rendition of the texts, originally published in English in 'The Dictionary of New Zealand Biography Volume Two'.
